Senior Proposal Manager

Overview

The Sr. Proposal Manager is a highly experienced proposal or grant writer with experience working with Executives or other high-level associates. Understands how to work in a competitive environment that requires a commitment to excellence in the work product without fail. Understands how to manage multiple proposals in tandem, and navigate the organization with resourcefulness and efficiency. The Sr. Proposal Manager is responsible for ensuring all RFP deadlines are met with all necessary deliverables, and takes responsibility for managing those deliverables through completion. Resilient, tough, and competitive.

Relevant Skills/Experience

  • Proposal and/or grant writing
  • Business Development and/or RFP experience, heavy in copywriting and proposal management
  • Undergrad degree in English, Journalism, Business, Marketing, Communications, Professional or Business Writing
  • Experience in fast-paced environments as a trusted autonomous and resourceful self-starter

Experience Requirements

  • 5 – 8+ years of proposal or long-form business writing experience
  • Persuasive and strong writing skills required – samples of previous proposals a requirement
  • Proven ability to manage tight deadlines and multiple projects at once
  • Strong project management and organization skills
  • High degree of competency using Microsoft Office programs, specifically: Word, Excel, Teams, PPT

  • Ability to prioritize work for meeting deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to understand departments of BDA and navigate the organization to gather necessary information to accurately respond to RFIs and RFPs
  • Ability to research and analyze the marketplace and/or accounts to find competitive information that can be included in strategic account documents
  • Ability and enthusiasm for ideation and brainstorming
  • Maintain positivity and can-do attitude during busy periods with heavy workloads

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring the submission of proposals that are compliant with RFP instructions and requirements.
  • Must work within online proposal management systems frequently (Ariba, SAP, Workday, etc.)
  • Manage database of responses and information related to RFPs
  • Manage the proposal-writing response process from receipt of Request for Proposals (RFPs) (ie: solicitations) through the final product and submission
  • Responsible for documenting and tracking all deliverables through completion
  • Draft and edit Request for Proposal (RFP) responses; prepare written materials for editing and approval by Manager and other team/company leadership
  • Proactively manage all Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) contributing to the proposal effort
  • Responsible for gaining necessary approvals, including from Executive team, communicating succinctly
  • Ability to review comprehensive RFP documents and develop project management tools for assigning deliverables and tracking through completion
  • Collect, create, or edit assets for new business projects, proposals and presentations
  • Creative ideation and brainstorming with Manager and/or team for presentation themes, messaging, gifting, etc.
  • Meet client driven and interdepartmental tight deadlines through excellent organization skills and prioritization

We are pleased to share the base salary range for this position is $85,000 to $105,000. If you are hired at BDA, your compensation will be determined based on factors that may include geographic location, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any offer. In the spirit of pay transparency, the range listed is the full base salary range for the role and hiring at the top of the range would not be typical, in order to allow for future salary growth. The range listed is just one component of BDA’s total compensation and rewards programs, which includes: robust PTO; vacation, a paid volunteer day, holidays and summer Fridays, Benefits; medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, 401k; tuition reimbursement, mental health and financial wellness programs and professional development opportunities including tuition reimbursement. Certain revenue-generating positions may be eligible for incentive compensation.
