Based in London, ClearMacro is a growing technology company in the asset management space. It is building cutting edge tools and data sets designed to improve the way that active institutional investors (primarily discretionary investors) go about making investment and asset allocation decisions (over multiple investment time horizons as opposed to just short-term trading and focused on macro and thematic investment decisions as opposed to bottom-up, single-stocks).

Having closed a major funding round in early 2020, the company is continuing to scale operations, requiring several new hires, among them a Senior Quant Solutions Specialist (with exceptional data science skills) to lead our efforts in this area. Although this role is based in London ideally, it is also open to remote workers if they have convincing coverage of the discretionary buy-side.

SENIOR QUANT SOLUTIONS SPECIALIST ROLE

This opportunity provides the prospect to work for a respected international fin-tech company, who with strategic investor backing and leadership, are embarking on their next exciting stage of growth.

The company already has an initial core client base and are looking to appoint a senior product professional who can grow new revenues with new clients. The company already sells into a wide range of institutional investor categories (sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, mutual funds, insurance companies, wealth management companies and hedge funds etc.).

This role will focus initially on scoping and developing “hybrid” (integrating quantitative and qualitative techniques) investment decision-making tools for active investors across a range of different roles (CIO office; PM; strategy). Whilst there will be the opportunity to leverage the existing commercial relationships that the company has, standout drive and resilience will be required in order to unlock the material opportunities that we have identified.

The senior product specialist will have the freedom and flexibility to develop product strategy, with the benefits of a growing brand, company and product suite behind them. This, in addition to a nimble and entrepreneurial high growth culture, will all help to make this person successful.

There will also be ample scope for the right person (who is passionate about start-up culture and building companies) to participate more broadly in driving the success of this growing firm. In fact, the company is passionate about sales and product design working very closely together at this stage in its growth. As such, there will be plenty of opportunity to have a material influence on commercial growth – by working closely with clients and prospects to understand their unmet needs and design solutions accordingly.

Although this company has a London office to use if you wish, they are very happy for this person to continue working remotely post-Covid, so we're open to hearing from remote workers.

Profile:

Please only apply if you possess ALL the following skills and attributes:

• Leadership Skills: demonstrated ability to lead teams and command the respect of colleagues working in the quant and data space.
• Domain Knowledge: Advanced practitioner level knowledge of the application of data/quant driven approaches to investing to be credible with relevant customer prospects: institutional investors or analysts employing quant techniques, ideally in a macro and cross-asset class context (as opposed to say single stock equities). Clear ability to autonomously drive and carry the first few rounds of interactions with new
• Execution Skills: Exceptional data science, quant modelling and Python skills enabling the individual to conduct hands-on management of the design and implementation of both prototype and production-level customer solutions. Experience building back-testing analysis frameworks, in depth analysis of datasets, sourcing new datasets.
• Experience: Considerable product design experience and standout track record creating data-driven quantitative investment process solutions on the buyside (consideration will also be given to candidates from the sell-side who work very closely with buyside clients); demonstrable experience cleaning, validating and vetting data; experience of relevant statistical data techniques.
• Qualification: ideally a Masters (or equivalent) in Statistics or related degree.
• Project Management skills: highly effective project management skills – delivering projects on time, leading teams and reporting to management.
• Thought Leader: Passionate about communicating innovative product solutions and able to communicate this via participation in marketing and other communication strategies.
