Senior Revenue Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Revenue Accountant to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This person will be working in core function within the accounting team and need to have strong knowledge on ASC 606, will be responsible for revenue recognition, report to Technical accounting and Revenue manager and will be based in PST or MST Time Zone (Remote). Only persons authorized to work in USA will be considered.

Role and Responsibilities:

o Perform monthly close and reporting processes including preparation of revenue working, journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliation of revenue accounts and deferred revenue accounts
o Collaborate with the Professional Services organization in streamlining processes and implementing / managing time tracking and efforts estimates
o Review arrangements with multiple performance obligations and assess allocation
o Perform SSP analysis and prepare quarterly RSP allocation for each reporting period
o Analyze and assess appropriate accounting treatment and book the accruals as needed.
o Perform analysis on contract assets, contract liability, unbilled AR including preparation of roll forward schedules and calculation of the short term/long term classifications
o Assist with billing and collection and invoicing activities
o Assist with the quarterly and annual audits; including the compilation and preparation of supporting schedules, work papers, and financial reports related to areas of responsibility
o Work with sales operations / legal to review draft contracts and confirm or propose edits required to meet revenue guidance as appropriate
o Perform contract review, prepare allocations, and apply critical thinking to ensure revenue recognized in compliance with ASC 606
o Assist in SOX testing to ensure SOX compliance; work with internal and external audit requests related to areas of responsibility
o Contribute to process and system improvements in the revenue cycle, including ERP system enhancement and departmental projects
o Assist Accounting team with any ad hoc requests or responsibilities, including the monthly close process.
o Review contracts and support the revenue recognition for in-process and completed projects.
o Support the annual financial statement audit by providing requested support to auditors.
o Participate in Company special projects and initiatives.

Skills, Educations and Experiences:

o 3 to 5 years of revenue experience, ASC 606 experience required
o experience with Big 4 or large national accounting firm preferred
o Ability to work in dynamic, fast paced, fast growing company where adaptability is imperative
o Very strong written and verbal communication skills
o Excellent interpersonal abilities
o Ability to build relationships across all business functions
o Intermediate level Excel skills
o Audit experience, CPA is a plus
o Strong excel knowledge
o Experience in revenue recognition in netsuite or other ERP preferred
