We are looking for seasoned engineers who have a keen eye for detail and can tackle hard challenges in the devops and reliability space. Your mission will be to make our product as reliable as a Swiss watch, raising our bar from 99.9% to 99.99% uptime.

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you'll participate in on-call rotations and respond to incidents in real time. When not putting out fires, you'll take a long term view of our software and enhance the reliability of our product by continuously improving our technology stack and reliability practices. You'll use your collaboration skills to work with other engineering teams and spread the culture of reliability as far and as wide as possible.

This position requires a mix of strong development and systems integration skills. The challenges are varied, so candidates who are good generalists will thrive in this environment.

Who You Are:

• Have a strong knack for troubleshooting and diagnosing problems in real-time, particularly with nodejs, and java based microservices in a kubernetes environment
• Experience being on-call for production systems
• Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong experience in at least one programming language like Java, Go, NodeJS, React, Python, Ruby, or Perl
• You possess experience in Kubernetes, Helm, Prometheus, FluentD, Grafana, and other Cloud-Native tooling around observability
• You have deep experience with one of the major public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• You have effective skills for ensuring production uptime and stability by focusing on observability, reliability, availability, performance, capacity
• Strong experience in building effective processes for continuous improvements of Service Level Objectives (SLOs), mean time to identification (MTTI), mean time to resolution (MTTR), and mean time to failure (MTTF)
• Any additional experience in search is an advantage!

What You'll Do:

• Participate in on-call rotation and incident management
• Participate in post-mortems and investigations of incidents
• Build, develop and continuously enhance our internal observability and incident management tooling
• Analyze the reliability of internal software and work on improvements to them
• Build dashboards to facilitate visibility into the state of our system
• Manage and develop the alerting around our software
• Work closely with development teams to keep their software operable
• Help develop practices that keep the operational readiness of the organization and software high

Base Compensation Range*: $180,000-$200,000

Additional Components: You may also be offered a performance-based bonus, equity, and a generous benefits program.

• For base compensation, we set standard ranges for all US-based roles based on function, level and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies and internal comparables. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including geographic location as well as candidate experience/expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
