Gemini is a New York trust company that is subject to the capital reserve requirements, cybersecurity requirements, and banking compliance standards set forth by the New York State Department of Financial Services and the New York Banking Law. Gemini was founded in 2014 by twin brothers Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss to empower the individual through crypto.

The Department: Platform

Our Platform Organization’s purpose is to enable Gemini to scale effectively and empower our engineering teams to focus on building innovative financial products and experiences for individuals around the world. Platform focuses around building a scalable and secure foundation platform. It enables Product Developers to deploy, validate, and operate their services in production, while improving resiliency. There is a strong focus to increase organizational and system efficiency by reducing operational toil through architectural evolution.

The Role: Senior Software Engineer, Blockchain Platform

You have the opportunity to be one of the first engineers on a high-growth, high-impact team. The Blockchain Platform forms the connecting tissue with other product engineering teams. The team focuses on leveraging Gemini’s platform solutions to build a scalable, highly available blockchain platform. Our goal is to ease and streamline the onboarding of new chains and coins, support Gemini’s earn and staking capabilities, and provide leverage by allowing for our blockchain infrastructure to be used consistently across novel products (e.g. Nifty Gateway). You will learn about different applications of blockchains and will collaborate and partner closely with the Open Source community. We are a dynamic group with both entrepreneurial spirit as well as enterprise experience. We have incredibly high aspirations and we are looking for like-minded individuals from diverse backgrounds who want to guide the transition to a new, more decentralized world where access to digital assets is easy and accessible.

Responsibilities:

• Architecting and building a robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure;
• Solving real business needs at large scale by applying your software engineering and analytical problem solving skills;
• Leading cross-functional initiatives and collaborating with engineers, product managers, and TPM's across teams;
• Build and support APIs and Microservices that can be multipliers for the upstream product teams ;
• Collaborate with engineering partners in Product Engineering, Platform, Wallet, Security, Compliance and others;
• Integrate the new Platform with the rest of the Gemini’s infrastructure.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years in languages like Scala, Golang, Java, Python;
• Strong product and customer-centric design approach;
• Cloud technologies and providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure;
• Containerization and Container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes;
• Solid organizational skills, attention to detail and exceptional communication skills;
• Having prior knowledge in the blockchain space is a plus
