As a Senior Software Engineer within the Justworks Time & Attendance team, you will be leveraging your experience working within a service-oriented architecture. You will be responsible for separating data and functionality as necessary, and will demonstrate an understanding and use of automated testing as a productivity multiplier. You will be working primarily in Ruby on Rails and JavaScript, but prior knowledge is not a requirement.

Justworks Time & Attendance, is seeking an experienced engineer to join our team. As a successful candidate, you have demonstrated the ability to build, deploy and maintain features of large-scale, distributed applications. You have worked within a service-oriented architecture and know how to separate data and functionality as necessary.

Our mobile and web solutions enable workforces around the globe to operate with greater accountability and efficiency by monitoring and automating employee work hours, project tracking, and overall organizational performance. You will work closely with other engineers to scope, design, and build new features and functionality in this area.

• Collaborate with a cross functional team to find solutions to customer challenges
• Take ownership of designing and developing functionalities that are exposed via web
• Add capabilities to our high-volume, fault-tolerant processing infrastructure
• Implement internal services
• Enhance our testing, monitoring and continuous deployment infrastructure
• Keep extremely sensitive data compartmentalized and secure
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional hands-on experience
• Experience with Ruby or Ruby on rails is highly preferred
• Strong object-oriented design and coding skills
• Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Experience working with complicated systems at scale

The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $167,500.00 to $205,000.00 per year.
