The Senior Trader Electronic Trading will be responsible for applying advanced algorithmic trading strategy, portfolio trading strategy, venue analysis and equity market structure knowledge in the execution of equity trade orders generated by institutional clients. In this role, the qualified individual will collaborate with institutional salespeople and sales traders to identify potential clients and cross-sell opportunities with existing institutional clients, monitor risk thresholds and trading velocity to ensure they are within established risk parameters, and apply knowledge of Commission Sharing agreements (CSA) to broaden and grow existing client relationships. In addition, the Senior Trader Electronic Trading will develop and distribute pre-post market analysis and transaction cost analysis (TCA) on institutional customer order flow. May provide informal oversight to other equity teams.

Educate traders on available tools to efficiently execute complex equity trade orders generated by institutional clients, utilizing advanced understanding of market structure to complete trades at optimal price points and within established risk parameters.

Develop and maintain relationships with institutional salespeople, sales traders, sector traders, institutional clients, and external vendors. Develop comprehensive knowledge of client trading behaviors to provide consultation on execution strategy and tools.

Collaborate with institutional salespeople and sales traders to identify institution clients for cross-selling opportunities.

Synthesize and communicate information regarding market structure, and venue analysis into relevant, concise content for institutional sales staff and external customers.

Monitor daily trading activity to achieve profit targets and minimize risk. Balance, reconcile and manage trading strategies within risk policy limits.

Train less experienced traders on algorithmic and portfolio trading strategies.

Oversee the prompt resolution of trading issues escalated by less experienced traders.

Ensure all trading activities are in compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred.

5-7 years of trading experience required, with meaningful levels of responsibility and demonstrated success, including experience with listed equities and derivatives.

Sell-side experience with strong institutional investor relationships preferred.

Advanced understanding of fundamental algorithmic and portfolio trading.

Advanced understanding of equity trading regulations, market trends and risk management theory.

Strong knowledge of trading systems, including Fidessa, Triton, Clearpool and Pragma.

Ability to clearly communicate financial or trading concepts to various audiences.

Strong knowledge of FIX protocol.

Ability to effectively work in group environment.

Ability to multi-task and perform functions with high level of detail and attention.
