McCain Food’s facility in Burley, Idaho is a large-scale food processing plant, employing approximately 700 employees. This site specializes in the production of frozen potato products. Fun Fact: 1 in 4 French fries are produced by McCain Foods.

Position Summary:

Responsible for monitoring the size and quality of product after freezing and the temperature of freezer tunnels. Also responsible for controlling the distribution of product line flow to the packaging deck.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitors freezer tunnel speed and temperature
• Monitors quality of product (including size) in line flow and in cribs.
• Calculates, charts, and documents required data.
• Monitors crib add back to line flow.
• Sets up and monitors shakers, belts, and tunnel fans.
• Cleans and sanitizes equipment and area.
• Relieves packaging employees as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing facility is a plus.
• Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Must have ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Must have demonstrated computer skills and experience with the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking is required

Frequently: Walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Occasionally: Lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
