Summary:
The Shift Supervisor is the single point of contact responsible for overall operational decisions to ensure safe, environmentally sound, and efficient operation of the Nebraska City/North Omaha Station and its supporting facilities. The Shift Supervisor serves as acting Manager, Station Operations during off hours (nights/weekends/holidays). This position supports the acquisition and development of competent shift operations staff and sets the standards of performance for all site personnel, in accordance with procedures and policies. The Shift Supervisor is the leader of the emergency response team, which includes Fire Brigade and Hazwhoper responsibilities, and is responsible for the safety of all personnel on site (Operations, Material Handling, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain and Chemistry). This position collaborates on the design, and lead implementation efforts, of continuous improvement topics such as: roles and responsibilities, standards and expectations, system functionality, and procedures/policies in support of greater efficiency and operational improvement. They lead Engineering, Maintenance Services and Integrated Work Management Departments in setting the specific priorities and urgency of daily work, and planning and scheduling the overall station activities.
Responsibilities:
1. Management of People: Effectively apply OPPD¿s Management Leadership Practices (MLP¿s) in planning and assigning the work of Operations and all station support staff. Build and maintain a competent team through effective recruiting, selection and ongoing development.
2. Functional Planning & Execution: Accountable to develop and implement plans (Typically 1 year or less in scope) to achieve assigned KA¿s.
