Salary: Expected base pay rate for this role will be between $22.00 and $24.00 USD per hour at the commencement of employment.

However, if hired, base pay will be determined on an individualized basis (pay rates may vary) and is only one part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include discretionary bonuses and other IMAX sponsored benefit programs.

The Shipping Clerk will prepare items for shipments, verify, and keep records of incoming and outgoing shipments, collect, and deliver items, operate forklift, pallet jack, and/or hand truck to convey, move or hoist items to proper departments and/or areas. As the first point of contact in our Shipping Department, the Shipping Clerk must exhibit a professional demeanor when communicating with clients and couriers to ensure that each is promptly and efficiently assisted. This position also performs administrative duties, as needed. The ideal candidate must be a team player, innovative, a critical thinker and be customer service oriented.

Responsibilities:

• Review shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other documents to perform work assignments
• Receive and send packages ensuring accuracy completeness, and condition of shipments and record keeping
• Process orders daily, including accepting deliveries, labeling them, and distributing packages and letters internally
• Prepare and print shipping labels corresponding to shipping needs
• Prepare weight and dimensional estimates for cost estimating purposes
• Assemble and fill boxes and other cartons with items that need to be shipped
• Coordinate deliveries to customers and clients daily and stay in contact with shipping companies
• Maintain the shipping area by cleaning, organizing, and labeling items in storage on a regular basis
• Maintain shipping supplies inventory, submitting order requests as needed
• Maintain vehicle mileage report
• Keep records of goods that have been shipped and received, preparing regular shipping receiving reports for supervisor
• Place packages in secured caged and/or warehouse by boxing and lifting items as necessary and operating forklifts and pallet jacks for large items
• Schedule large shipments and coordinate logistics to ensure that there is enough storage space for incoming items and personnel on hand to manage incoming shipments
• Perform customer service duties as necessary, maintaining good relationships with shipping companies and clients who are receiving goods
• Pull, pack and move multi-piece shipments to loading dock to be collected by couriers
• Determine space requirements and position of shipment in trucks and assist with lifting onto trucks using company supplied forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, or by hand
• Assist with sending/receiving inventory of camera equipment
• DUPE hard drive/USBs
• Sometimes runs to different vendors

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years of experience as a Shipping Clerk
• High School Diploma or Associate’s degree is preferred
• Valid Driver License required and Forklift Certification is preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills, tactful, have a professional phone manner and the ability to interact professionally with members of the public and staff members at all levels of the organization
• Strong organizational and time management skills with proven ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple and shifting priorities, projects, and deadlines
• Ability to work independently, be a self-starter and take the initiative both in ensuring ongoing work is completed on time and is accurate, and in seeking additional work during slower periods
• Flexible, adaptable, personable, and able to work well with others, take direction, and fulfill responsibilities under stress or pressure with limited direct supervision. Must be able to work independently
• Competent user of MS Office software, particularly Word, Excel, Power Point
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Detail oriented and thorough, with strong grammar and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Punctual, reliable, and flexible
• Must be able to walk, climb stairs and ladders, reach overhead, squat, bend, kneel, stoop and crouch frequently and lift up to 35 lbs.
• Type minimum of 35 WPM
• Familiar with UPS WorldShip and FedEx Ship Manager
