Required Skills


To welcome guests to the IMAX® Theater in a friendly and hospitable manner; to control the traffic flow in the lobby and auditorium; to clean the lobby, auditorium, and concessions stand and to take/sell tickets and to work in the concessions stand.


Key Responsibilities


  • Knowing the POS system to sell tickets and concessions to guests
  • Opening and closing procedures for both the concessions stand and auditorium
  • Handling cash payments with accuracy
  • Greet all guests entering the lobby and direct them to the auditorium or concessions stand
  • Crowd control from both theater and museum traffic
  • Making any announcements to the movie theatre loud and clear for all guests to hear and understand
  • Opening theater doors and retrieving theater tickets from guests entering the auditorium
  • Ensure that all tickets have the correct date and showtime
  • Assisting all guests who are in wheelchairs or have trouble walking by offering to take them in the elevator (if applicable) or assisting them to their seat
  • Walk through all the aisles looking under seats for lost items or garbage
  • Cleaning lobby and workstations between shows
  • Stocking and handling concessions supplies between shows
  • Checking washrooms regularly between shows to ensure they are clean and well-stocked
  • Taking out trash and recycling
  • Working with a team and supervisors on duty to ensure all procedures and guests are taken care o
  • Other duties as assigned

What we’re looking for:


  • Availability on nights and weekends
  • At least 2 years customer service experience

The ideal candidate will have:


  • Effective Communication skills
  • Skill in working as part of a team
  • Ability to follow safe workplace practices in a fast-paced environment
  • Skilled in critical thinking/problem solving
  • Able to effectively resolve customer issues and/or effectively communicate those issues to managers
  • Demonstrates the ability to interact with the public and co-workers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner
