Shipping/Receiving Associate

Job Title: Shipping/Receiving and Inventory Control

Receiving focus

Receives shipments and distributes appropriately
- Responds to or delegates dock deliveries
- Checks “dumping” areas daily and distributes product to appropriate locations
Reviews shipment packaging for any damage
Assures packing slip matches what was delivered and provides packing slip to office; communicates any discrepancies

Inventory focus

Keeps consolidated and clean inventory on both 3rd and 4th floor

METAL: All similar products to be in same location for storage
RAW MATERIALS: Distribute to correct department or storage location if they are not needed on the production floor
MISC: i.e., prototypes, repair orders, custom labeled orders; check with office on placement and next steps

Reviews weekly ship list to ensure product due to ship has appropriate component; label component with PO#
- Communicates with each department to provide or return necessary frames

Shipping Focus

Makes sure to plan appropriately to ship items on their weekly due dates

Provides Holly Hunt warehouse drivers with correct paperwork
Completes inspection checklist for orders
Takes inspection photos of every item, including work orders and inspection paperwork
Maintains appropriate stock of materials to pack weekly orders
Wrap and package product for shipping
Crate building
- Use of various hand and power tools to build custom wood crates
- Use of various pneumatic staplers, pneumatic nail guns, miter saws, radial arm saws, panel saws, drills
Keeps work area clean

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications/characteristics:

A high school diploma/GED or equivalent experience is required
1-3 years of warehouse experience

Familiarity with product packaging, crating and material handling; custom carton and crate-building experience strongly preferred
Previous experience using various hand/power tools strongly preferred
Forklift experience strongly preferred
Ability to lift up to 65 lbs. independently, more with team
Ability to stand for long periods of time while working on projects
Ability to follow procedures and comply with all safety policies and procedures
Good math skills strongly preferred (calculating dimensions, cut calculations, reading tape measure, etc.)
Ability to work both independently and in groups
Must be punctual
