Head of GTM Finance

The Head of GTM Finance at Shippo will play a key role in shaping the company’s growth strategy by driving financial planning, forecasting, and strategic analysis across go-to-market functions. This individual will collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Carrier Partnerships, and Customer Success teams, providing data-driven insights to optimize resource allocation, assess ROI on marketing and sales initiatives, and support efficient budget management. By monitoring and influencing key metrics like CAC, LTV, and payback periods, this role will help enhance profitability and support decision-making that fuels Shippo's expansion. This role will also work directly with senior leadership to present findings and influence the broader strategic direction of the business. Ultimately, their contributions will ensure alignment between GTM investments and company-wide financial goals, enabling Shippo to scale with strong financial discipline.


Shipping & handling​​ responsibilities:

Lead GTM Financial Planning and Analysis: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes for the GTM team, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and financial targets.

Strategic Partnership with Sales and Marketing: Collaborate with GTM leaders to drive financial strategy, analyze ROI on marketing and sales initiatives, and optimize allocation of resources across channels and campaigns.

Develop ROI Models and Support Decision-Making: Build financial models to assess and drive strategic investment decisions across marketing, sales, carrier partnerships, and customer retention programs.

Guide Cross-functional Projects: Participate in cross-functional initiatives such as product launch assessments, carrier integrations, campaign evaluations, and efficiency tracking to support GTM objectives.

Develop and Present Key Financial Metrics: Fine tune, monitor, influence, and present KPIs like CAC, LTV, and payback periods. Provide actionable insights on financial and operational performance to senior leadership.

Support Pricing and Sales Strategy: Partner with sales and product teams to develop and refine pricing strategies, analyze sales performance, and optimize customer acquisition costs.

Conduct Financial Analysis and Reporting: Generate monthly and quarterly financial reports, including revenue, operational KPIs, and variance analysis for GTM teams, and present findings to senior leadership.

Drive Process Improvement Initiatives: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance accuracy, and improve forecasting and reporting scalability.


Do you tick the ​​boxes​​?
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Related Field: An MBA or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) is preferred.
  • Experience: 8+ years in finance or strategic finance, with a focus on GTM, preferably within a SaaS or high-growth tech company. Investment banking experience is a plus.
  • Advanced Financial Modeling Skills: Proven expertise in financial modeling, data analysis, and managing large datasets. Familiarity with tools like Looker, and financial planning software is a plus.
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex data, draw insights, and make data-driven recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: Able to articulate financial concepts clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders and present recommendations to executive audiences.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Demonstrated success working with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and customer success, to achieve shared goals.
  • Adaptability and Initiative: Self-starter with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to evolving business needs.
  • Experience with Tools we Use: Google Sheets / Excel, Salesforce, Looker, Netsuite, Cube, and more


Our Compensation Shippolicy:

We believe compensation is a custom experience and are commited to fair and equitable compensation practices. The standard base pay range for this role is min is $149k to a max $195k annual salary. We tend to anchor our pay in the middle of this range ($172k). Since we are focused on hiring Shippos Everywhere, we have 2 US pay ranges, a standard compensation range for the majority of the US and a standard +1 compensation range for those who live in areas where the cost of labor is higher, such as NYC and California.

The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: financial budgets, work experience, training, transferable skills, business needs, and market value. The base pay salary ranges are subject to change and may be modified in the future. Total compensation for this role will include, equity, medical, dental, vision and other benefits noted in our Shippos “package” section.

Our people, much like the packages we help ship, are all over the world. This means, through our remote-first program, “Shippos Everywhere”, our roles can be based anywhere in the US with the exception of Delaware, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, Hawaii, New Mexico and West Virginia and many roles can be based internationally.

For locations outside of the US and Ireland, the employment contracts are powered by Remote.com (all Shippo perks still apply - including equity!). What we want to emphasize is that you can be successful at Shippo regardless of location.
