What You Will Do

The Service Innovation-Document Control Records Management (SI-DCRM), Records Student Program offers summer and year-round internships for Undergraduate Students. This is an educational program that provides students with relevant records work experience while pursuing a degree. As a student you will contribute to project execution of assisting LANL organizations to identify, prepare, process and scan records in response to the Laboratory's paper reduction milestones and providing deployed records management services support to LANL organizations.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Desire and ability to work a maximum of 30 hours per week, year-round.
  • Must have an interest in one of the following areas: business administration, project management, information technology, records management, or document control.
  • Proficient in the use of standard office software, such as Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proofreading, and editing for grammar, spelling, punctuation and content.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with outstanding critical, problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills, organizational skills, and time management skills.
  • Working collaboratively with other team members and students to direct the planning, tasks needed to perform the scope of work assigned.
  • Ability to pick up a box of records around 35 to 50 pounds.

Education/Experience:
  • Must be enrolled at least 12 semester credit hours in an accredited bachelor's degree program. Preferably in the field of Business Administration, Project Management, and Information Systems.
  • Must currently have and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Desire to have a local school candidate work a maximum of 30 hours per week, year around.
  • Proficiency or experience in identifying records for capture into Documentum and/or database Applications.
  • Advanced keyboarding skills, following property protocol/formats and data-entry experience.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions on records processing activities following records management procedures and practices.
  • Experience and demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships and interact with all levels of personnel

Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

Additional Details

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.

No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.

New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.

Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
