Experienced Staff Accountant, Los Angeles, CA
Responsibilities: Provides complete business management services to individual/corporate clients. Answers client and support staff questions regarding clients’ financial/tax matters. Prepares tax returns and cash/tax projections and does tax/financial planning and pension accounting. Reviews and prepares workpapers, financial statements, general ledgers, etc. Analyzes investments, insurance, purchases, contracts, etc. Under supervision. Assumes responsibility for larger projects and delegates to the assistant bookkeeper as deemed necessary. Performs research projects to achieve an accurate and efficient product. Participates actively in client meetings. Assumes client service responsibility for clients the accountant works directly with or clients where the responsibility is delegated from the partner or manager. Reviews work for bookkeepers and assists with on-the-job training. Receives, reviews, and post broker statements. Performs some bank reconciliations. Possesses a developing knowledge on entertainment industry practices. Performs other duties as assigned by the Business Management Partner.
Qualifications: THIS POSITION REQUIRES A BACHELOR’S DEGREE (OR FOREIGN EQUIVALENT) IN ACCOUNTING, BUSINESS MANAGEMENT, ECONOMICS, FINANCE, OR IN A CLOSELY RELATED FIELD, PLUS 1 YEAR OF WORK EXPERIENCE IN PUBLIC ACCOUNTING, BUSINESS MANAGEMENT, ECONOMICS, FINANCE OR IN A CLOSELY RELATED OCCUPATION
Special Requirements: REQUIRED SKILLS: EXPERTISE/KNOWLEDGE OF:
Compile financial statements including bank reconciliations and year-end journal entries posting; knowledge on Entertainment Industry practices, practice check deposits, process approved bill payments and financial assets monitoring. Prepare withholding tax forms and various types of year-end 1099 forms; Knowledge on payroll includes issue paychecks, calculate/deposit payroll payments and file quarterly/year-end payroll tax forms; knowledge on retirement contribution calculations. Prepare federal and state individual, corporation and partnership tax returns including comprehensive supplemental forms and schedules; Extension payment and estimated tax projections and tax planning. Extensive experience with IRS and state tax authorities’ notices; coordinate audits when necessary. SALT tax reporting includes but not limited to states’ annual franchise tax reporting, states’ sales & use tax reporting, county business property statement reporting, and city business license tax registration and renewal. Fulfill various business surveys from U.S. Census Bureau and U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, etc. Provide a series of incorporation and revivor assistance. Research on newly enforced tax regulations. Computer accounting and tax software programs including CCH ProFx System, CCH Axcess Tax, CFS Payroll System, Quickbooks Payroll, Quickbooks Desktop and Quickbooks Online.

Salary: $78,978 - $89,000 per year
