Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
-
Ability to manage equipment Service and Breakdown works safely and efficiently.
-
To ensure safe working conditions are maintained.
-
To identify potential improvements & feeding-back ideas to engineering: regarding working practices, new equipment and product development.
-
Ensure all works are in line with Harsco / Altek safety standards.
-
To provide detailed problem analysis for solutions to solve the problems in conjunction with project manager and project team.
-
Issue safety permits (If required).

Check all works to specifications issued by Altek Engineering

Provide daily reports for work done.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
-
You will be part of the Site Services team involved in assisting the Commissioning Engineers with the installation of equipment, and the servicing of equipment and systems supplied to our global customer’s.

The position is a mixed office/shop/site role with travel to our global customer sites.
-
Servicing of electrical and mechanical induction stirring equipment and dross presses at customer facilities.
-
Coordinate with the customer or third-party contractor to accomplish tasks.
-
Provide training to customer representatives during Site visits including operators, engineers, and management.

Prepare all documentation related to on-site activities including site visit reports, marked up as built drawings, time sheets, and commissioning documents.

Provide technical support to customers to resolve plant breakdown or reliability issues.

Perform service visits at customer facilities to troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, and software issues, and/or to handle scheduled maintenance tasks.

Document any issues or product improvement ideas and present this information to the Altek team.

Assist with the assembly and factory acceptance testing of Altek products at our facility in the UK

Qualifications
Qualifications & Managerial Experience
-
BE/B.Tech Electrical Engineering
-
Min. 5 years’ electrical / industrial installation experience

Experience in Plant / Cast House Environments
Technical Skills
-
Reading and understanding Electrical drawings
-
Computer literacy with MS Office, Outlook and Adobe software.(Siemens and Allen Bradley experience would be beneficial)
