About Slate:Slate is a new US company that is exploring development in the electric vehicle space.Who we are looking for:Slate is adding a Finance Manager of Corporate FP&A, who will lead and create budgeting and forecasting initiatives for the company. This role will lead the near-term financial planning using a cloud-based forecasting tool (EPM). You will work closely with every functional budget owner to optimize operating expenses, capital spending, and workforce planning, and then communicate back to those stakeholders how they performed against actuals. The ideal candidate will have strong people skills, analytical abilities, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to financially sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for this opportunity currentlyWhat does success look like in this role:• Develop and own an orderly and predictable budgeting and forecasting cadence such that functional budget owners (department heads) can plan around the need to regularly provide financial planning data.• Administer cloud-based forecasting tool (one of the industry-leading Enterprise Performance Management tools/EPMs), with meticulous version control and process discipline around scenario creation and locking.• Lead financial dashboard development, maintenance, and audience adoption.• Narrate and visualize financial performance relative to budget and forecast, supplemented with relevant operational metrics.• Implement Project system enhancements to the company's EPM to further automate the budgeting and forecasting process.• Partner with Strategic Finance to harmonize the near-term forecast (owned by Corporate FP&A) with the long-term financial plan (LRP, owned by Strategic Finance).• Partner with Corporate Accounting to create processes suitable for the Corporate FP&A team to own for month-end close.• Building and developing team of FP&A analysts.• Support financial diligence requests during the course of fundraising. What you bring to the team:• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.• 8+ years of experience including 3+ years of experience as a Manager in finance or accounting roles within the manufacturing industry, preferably in automotive or related sectors including• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, cost accounting principles, and financial analysis.• Experience in a manufacturing or plant finance role.• Familiarity with inventory management and valuation.• Meticulous with strong attention to accuracy.• Ability to lead a team and collaborate effectively with cross-functionally.• Experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite.• Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, start-up environment.
