With Sleeper Picks, our real-money Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) game, users predict player performance against statistical projections provided by third-party vendors. Role Overview:

We are searching for a highly intelligent and innovative Front-end Web Engineer to join our team. At Sleeper, we believe in the power of smart, creative individuals to drive change and build incredible things, regardless of their background in specific technologies. You will play a crucial role in developing our web products to ensure scalability, reliability, and quality, impacting millions of dedicated users every day.

Sleeper is a rapidly growing platform for sports fans with social at its core. Our web platform consists primarily of React, typescript, and webpack and shares much of it’s core with our mobile product. We’re looking for an experienced web developer who can bring their knowledge and skills to help refine our web product; bringing feature, quality, and technology parity to our mobile experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with designers to understand user requirements and translate them into technical specifications for the React web application.

  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using React, JS, and related libraries (Tailwind, React Query, Vite, etc.).

  • Develop reusable UI components and implement a well-structured component hierarchy for the React application.

  • Implement user interface (UI) functionality and logic using React features like state management, props, hooks, and lifecycle methods.

  • Integrate front-end components with back-end services using APIs (RESTful or GraphQL).

  • Troubleshoot and debug complex web application issues

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in React, web development best practices, and accessibility guidelines.

Who You Are:

  • A degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of web development with an emphasis on frontend

  • Desire to take on and own a large scale product with freedom to design and develop a best in class product

  • Proven ability to develop and implement algorithms or systems in a professional setting, with strong coding skills in Javascript and strong a web technologies skillset

  • Highly proactive, with a track record of building processes from scratch and a willingness to challenge traditional risk management paradigms.

  • Comfortable in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, thriving on innovation and the challenge of creating something new.
