Director of Engineering - App and Collaboration Platform

Snowflake’s App and Collaboration team builds platform infrastructure underneath Snowflake AI Data Cloud and Collaboration to enable sharing in Data Cloud with access to powerful data and AI/ML API resources on Snowflake.

• Have technical expertise to lead an organization of engineers and highly impactful initiatives for platform infrastructure underneath Snowflake Data Cloud’s App & Collaboration.
• You will establish project goals, contribute to product strategy, and develop your team.
• Collaborate closely with Principal Engineers and other Senior Engineers to design and build the platform
• Innovate and build highly secured and reliable software to allow customers to be in Data Cloud.
• Design and implement highly available distributed platforms within the global Snowflake.
• Revolutionize how organizations leverage data and AI as a strategic business asset.
• Ensure operational readiness of the platform and meet the commitments to our customers regarding reliability, availability, observability, and performance.

OUR IDEAL DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING - APP AND COLLABORATION PLATFORM, WILL HAVE:

• 10+ years industry experience designing, building and supporting large-scale distributed infrastructure platforms in production. 
• Strong fundamental computer science skills.
• Previous work experience as a software engineer in distributed infrastructures is a plus.
• Fluency in Java or C++.
• Knowledge of AI Lifecycle and database internals is a big plus.
• Deep multi-faceted appreciation in building platforms and APIs.
• Experience driving company cross functional  initiatives towards customer satisfaction.
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related majors.

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:

• The estimated base salary range for this role is $264,000 - $431,250
• Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake’s bonus and equity plan.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
