Social Media Content Manager

We are looking for an experienced contributor passionate about social media. Our ideal candidate is a creative, innovative communicator who has a strong understanding of gaming communities. This role will help refine and execute strategies to develop our online brand and voice, grow our social channels, increase content reach and engagement, leverage user-generated content, and optimize the investment we make in social. We are looking for a driven, self-motivated person with a proven track record of generating content for social media marketing and engagement in the entertainment industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop innovative content strategies across our website and owned social channels including but not limited to Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Facebook
  • Contribute to the creation of high-impact social media campaigns
  • Bring new and big content and strategy ideas to the table with a digital/social first mindset
  • Optimize social media efforts through smart paid efforts
  • Create, edit and post visual, written, and audio content that is targeted at social media
  • Organize, develop, and manage social editorial calendar
  • Lead social listening efforts to ensure rapid response to emerging trends and opportunities
  • Serve as an internal champion and expert in social policy as it relates to user-generated content, user privacy, contests, and giveaways, etc.
  • Actively contribute to social media risk and crisis management
  • Develop, evaluate and report on relevant metrics and diagnose opportunities for improvement, optimization, and innovation
  • Define and update social best practices internally
  • Partner with internal staff, including developers, to get them engaged with and contribute to our social media efforts

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years experience managing social media channels and content for gaming, entertainment, or technology outlet
  • Minimum two years experience with channel management, publishing calendars, reporting, and analytics
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Extensive, up-to-date knowledge of the game industry, social media, live streaming scenes, and communication trends
  • Ability to write engaging and persuasive social and blog copy
  • Experience with brand strategy, project management, and process improvement
  • Strong high-level problem-solving skills and extraordinary attention to detail
  • Natural leadership ability, strong interpersonal skills, and great customer service skills
  • Proven track record maintaining the confidentiality and exercising discretion when communicating externally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pluses

  • A passionate gamer
  • Advanced degrees in communication, marketing, or related field
  • Social media certifications (such as YouTube Certified)
