Who you are:
We’re looking for a Software Engineer III, Backend to be responsible for helping build the next generation Content Acquisition Platform based upon a microservice architecture, leveraging object-oriented programming languages (such as Java and Scala), real-time messaging systems (such as Kafka), and SQL & NoSQL data stores (such as MySQL, Elasticsearch). Utilize cloud computing platforms such as AWS–along with its relevant tools and processes such as S3, Lambda, SQS–and modern DevOps tooling such as docker, Jenkins, ECS. Utilize agile software development methodologies to maintain a high standard of code, employing tools such as Git, JIRA, and Confluence. Implement and promote software engineering best-practices such as unit & integration testing. May telecommute from any location in the U.S.
Required Skills & Experience:
- This position requires a Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field and 3 years related experience.
- Must also have each of the following:
1) 3 years of experience with statically-typed, general purpose languages like Java, Scala, Go, C and with DevOps tooling, including Docker, Datadog, and Jenkins;
2) 2 years of experience working with Python, JavaScript, and Node.js, building REST APIs, and utilizing agile software development methodologies using tools such as Git, JIRA, and Confluence;
3) 2 years of experience working with AWS services including S3, ECS, Fargate, and EC2 and utilizing SQL databases (including MySQL and Postgres) and utilizing NoSQL databases (including ElasticSearch and Redis);
4) One year of experience with microservice architecture; and
5) Demonstrated experience contributing to the entire software lifecycle including hands-on development, code reviews, testing, deployment, and documentation.
Will accept experience gained concurrently.
Will accept experience gained before, during, or after a Master’s degree program.
Full-time, position may telecommute from any location in the U.S.
Salary: $133,390 to $170,000/year.
