Position Title: Software Engineer, Times Series and Real Time Data Streaming

As a Software Engineer of Event Streaming and Real-Time Analytics, you will be part of a dynamic team of problem-solvers and product-builders, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions rapidly.

In this role, you will contribute to the technical direction of our event streaming and real-time analytics framework as we continue to evolve the LTK Data Foundation and Data Engineering capability. Your responsibilities will include leading the technical definition, prototyping, and production-ready enablement of LTK's event streaming and real-time analytics framework, optimizing efficiencies, scale, and cost. You will also establish reusable and scalable technical patterns and frameworks, stay updated with data engineering trends, evaluate new technologies and solutions, and ensure timely delivery of technical work products.

How you will make an impact

• Lead the technical definition, prototyping, and production-ready enablement of LTK's event streaming and real-time analytics framework, optimizing efficiencies, scale, and cost.
• Establish reusable and scalable technical patterns and frameworks.
• Stay updated with data engineering technical trends and emerging approaches.
• Evaluate new technologies and/or custom solutions.
• Facilitate on-time delivery of technical work products.
• Effectively communicate, influence, and gain alignment within the team and with interdependent teams and stakeholders.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation and artifacts easily consumable by data teams and other engineering teams.
• Work on engineering stories that drive epics while avoiding technical debt.
• Seek assistance when encountering challenges and avoid going down unproductive paths.
• Take ownership and fix bugs without explicit direction.
• Deepen your engineering knowledge in one or two areas while broadening your general engineering knowledge.
• Adapt quickly to new technologies and products.
• Occasionally contribute to process improvement discussions within the scrum team.

What you will bring to LTK

• 2-5 years of experience in data engineering on a cloud data platform.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in information systems, computer science, data engineering, analytics, or a related field.
• Experience building production data pipelines, ELT/ETL solutions, data lakes, and data warehouses at a large scale.
• Experience in data engineering, building product-ready event streaming solutions using Apache Kafka or AWS Kinesis.
• Experience implementing services (APIs/Endpoints) to enable data-driven product development.
• Programming proficiency in Python or GoLang within the cloud data ecosystem.
• Experience with microservice architecture using Golang-based services.
• Proficiency in engineering data pipelines using big data tooling such as Spark, Kafka, and Kinesis.
• Highly proficient in working within an AWS cloud environment, including S3, Cloud Formation, RDS, AWS Glue, Athena, EMR, Kinesis, and Redshift.
• Exposure and experience with multiple data architecture stacks, including data pipelines, data lakes, data warehouses, analytics stores, and time series solutions.
• Strong understanding of cloud computing and optimization techniques.
• Highly proficient with complex SQL.
