Software Engineer

SDL is seeking an entry-level to mid-level web developer/software engineer. This position is for the main office in Logan, Utah or Ogden, Utah. Candidate should have good background in software development methodologies and be proficient in multiple programming languages. Responsibilities include submitting design and code reviews, upholding standard software development processes and writing unit tests. This job may require travel to Ogden, UT and Hill AFB once or twice a week. The other days will require work in the SDL offices or from home performing telework with the project team.

Candidates must be able to work effectively both independently and with team members. Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related engineering field
• 2+ years of software development
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Experience utilizing software design patterns and software development life cycles
• Must be proficient in two or more of the following languages (C/C++, Python, Rust, Web Dev [Frameworks, TypeScript, HTML, CSS], Perl, C#, ASM, Mobile Dev [Android, Objective C, Swift, Flutter, Xamarin], DB Programming and Administration [SQL, NoSQL, GraphQL])
• Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain a US government security clearance

• Good with UI/UX, AI/ML, Block Chain, 3D Graphics, Cyber, and Modeling & Simulation Algorithms
• Able to work with containers like Docker
• Able to work with Kubernetes and platforms
• Able to work in a cloud environment
• Linux systems administration
• Software quality assurance
• Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self‐motivated and customer-service oriented
• Ability to establish and maintain effective team relationships
• Experience with Agile and Lean software development methodologies
