Job Title: Full-Time Resource Room Special Education TeacherPay Range: $35+/hour (Based on Experience)Position Type: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)Job Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Resource Room Special Education Teacher to join our team for the full school year. Join us in fostering a supportive and inclusive educational environment.Key Responsibilities:• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students.• Adapt and modify curriculum and teaching strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.• Provide specialized instruction in a resource room setting.• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure student success.• Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.• Provide a safe and nurturing classroom environment.• Use various teaching methods to promote student engagement and learning.• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on student progress and performance.• Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on student goals and progress.• Work on academics/pre-academics, social-emotional, and adaptive/self-help skills.• Monitor and support students' social-emotional development, behavior management, and self-regulation skills.Position Details:• Full-time• Full school year• Inquire for more detailsEducational Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).• State certification in Special Education.• Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.• Experience with IEP development and implementation.SPED Certifications:• Michigan State Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Special Education.• Specific endorsements may include Learning Disabilities (LD), Emotional Impairment (EI), Cognitive Impairment (CI), and others as required.• Completion of all necessary continuing education requirements to maintain certification.Benefits:• Competitive compensation package.• Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, and disability plans.• 401k plan with employer match.• Tax-free stipends available for eligible candidates.
