Overview:
HarperCollins is looking for a Solutions Manager/Business Analyst to work on the Solutions Management Team in the IT Department. The Solutions team works closely with all Publishing department users (Editorial, Marketing, Contracts, Production, Sales, and Inventory) to implement new applications and manage their existing workflows. The ideal Solutions Manager will be a creative, communicative, and collaborative team member with previous business analysis experience.
The role is primarily remote but will require travel to the NYC office or other locations periodically.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with the business on gathering requirements for new system requests, existing system change requests, and/or reengineering current workflow.

Documents the above in a clear and concise manner for both business sign-off and development review.

Creates the project plan, agendas, meeting notes, and schedule meetings independently or with Project Management.

Manages all development tickets (tasks, bugs, enhancements) in IT ticket management software.

Collaborates with developers on system builds and enhancements.

Collaborates with data team on configuration, conversion, and reporting.

Creates and validates conversion and interface datamaps.

Configures systems, add looks up values, translations, etc.

Interprets and analyzes data from various sources.

Collaborates with QA on system testing.

Creates test plans independently or with the QA Department.

Creates user how to guides independently or with technical trainers.

Conducts user acceptance testing and training sessions.

Presents updates to upper management.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years as an IT Business Analyst or Functional Analyst

Publishing experience is preferred

Microsoft Office skills with proficiency in MS Word and Excel is required

Microsoft SQL Server skills with basic database knowledge and ability to write SELECT and JOIN queries preferred

JIRA and Confluence experience preferred

Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written

Excellent collaboration skills with all project delivery team members

Comfortable leading meetings and delivering updates on progress, risks, issues, challenges

A creative problem solver who can envision different solutions and approaches

The salary range for this position is $120,000-$135,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company.
