Senior Manager Corporate Communications

Sonatype is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager of Corporate Communications to join the Marketing team. This role is pivotal in developing and driving Sonatype’s global corporate communications strategy, with a particular focus on the North American and European markets. The ideal candidate will enhance Sonatype’s brand presence, articulate our value proposition in the media, and drive comprehensive strategic communications initiatives. This remote position demands a creative problem solver with a consistent record in media relations, thought leadership, and executive and agency management.

• Lead all global external corporate and executive communications, media relations, agency relations and crisis response.
• Develop and implement corporate communication strategies that convey Sonatype’s value proposition, coordinating closely with global brand messaging and initiatives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with media, thought leaders, and partners in the business, industry, government markets. Proactively find opportunities to share Sonatype's story, including pitching content and follow-up.
• Maintain a strong presence within corporate social media channels and executive profiles.
• In collaboration with Brand and Performance teams, define key messages on media topics relevant to Sonatype’'s core business and audiences, focusing on developing our profile as a respected thought leader.
• Develop and implement a robust spokesperson and influencer network. Support building external platforms and messaging through interviews, op-eds, and speaking engagements for our regional and global spokespeople.
• Partner with business leaders to educate on communications and public relations strategies, objectives, and priorities. Provide mentorship and guidance to the leadership team to improve their communication and presentation skills.
• Maintain a strong presence within corporate social media channels and executive profiles.
• Engage with relevant industry groups and forums on key issues relating to Sonatype.
• Coordinate with various internal teams to support announcements, program updates, and more.

• 4+ years demonstrated ability in a senior communications management role, in-house and/or agency, preferably in the high-growth, security, and/or technology industry.
• Experience leading comprehensive critical communications, media relations, and outreach programs to advance a company’s mission and commercial goals.
• Proven experience building relationships with media and successfully positioning sophisticated subject matter to achieve high-impact placements.
• Ability to think creatively, with a track record for translating critical thinking and product propositions into action plans and output.
• Strong attention to detail, including the ability to balance competing priorities.
• Proven success working closely with external and internal partners, including senior-level executives on messaging, speaking opportunities, media requests, and more.
• Passion for corporate communications and a fast-paced working environment.
• Ability to think strategically and innovatively while also employing a hands-on approach.
• Ability to operate autonomously with a high level of accountability.
• Remote role with occasional travel.
