Our client is a leading financial services company in the United States, specializing in providing comprehensive accounting and data-driven solutions to streamline business processes. Their innovative approach to automating financial transactions enables greater accuracy, efficiency, and compliance for their partners.
We are seeking a Business Data Analyst to join our team and take a leading role in implementing robust data solutions for our clients. You will develop and design comprehensive accounting data requirements, ensuring seamless automation of journal entries. Your role will be critical in ensuring accuracy, completeness, compliance, and efficiency in financial processes while collaborating cross-functionally to drive key system initiatives and improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with cross-functional teams, including Accounting, Engineering, Product, Finance, Tax, and Legal, to enhance policies and processes.
Develop and design accounting data requirements to automate journal entries.
Monitor and ensure data quality of journal entries via the Revenue Subledger and create Data Quality checks.
Conduct UAT (User Acceptance Testing) for accounting data requirements.
Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and views for data extraction and reporting.
Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to improve daily revenue reconciliation and manage reconciliation analysis.
Assess the impact of new product designs on existing accounting requirements during Financial Compliance Review meetings.
Support the automation of journal entries and ensure data consistency and integrity.
Handle ad hoc analyses and projects as assigned.
Ability to develop accounting requirements for upstream data.
3+ years of experience in revenue accounting, data analytics, and/or business intelligence.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606 Revenue Recognition (knowledge of IFRS is a plus).
Intermediate to advanced SQL skills, with the ability to handle large volumes of transactional data (Python experience is a plus).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to adapt to changing work environments.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of management and cross-functional teams.
