Overview:
Purpose Statement/Position Summary:
The space planner manager is responsible for occupancy planning and space utilization.
Responsibilities include:
  • Management of space requests and space assignments
  • Conduct annual space utilization surveys
  • Manage and maintain CAFM/ IWMS data to ensure accuracy of reporting
  • Development and maintenance of furniture standards in conjunction with ergonomic team lead.
  • Management of specific enterprise initiatives, i.e., furniture standards, wayfinding and interior finish standards at the direction of department leadership.
  • Manage furniture vendors
  • Manage moves and changes
  • The space planner should be familiar with industry standards and best practices and be capable of applying them to planning standards and guidelines appropriate to the institution. He or she should be familiar with (general knowledge) building codes, licensing requirements and other applicable regulatory requirements associated with hospitals.
  • Can also perform AutoCAD functions, Blue Beam and other related design and presentation software applications.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:
7 - 10 years in space planning, architecture, facilities management, real estate, or space management is required. Specialization in general campus planning in a minimum of one of the following types of facilities: healthcare, education, administration, or research. Competency in Integrated Workplace Management (IWMS) or Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) systems such as Archibus is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience working with external vendors & consultants.

Education/Licensure/Certification:
Bachelor’s Degree required in Architecture, Planning, Facilities Management, Interiors or similar
Pay Scale Information: USD $84,656.00 - USD $152,506.00

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
