Software Engineer II, C++ (Starshield)

SpaceX is actively developing technologies to enable human life on Mars. They are looking for a Software Engineer II, C++ (Starshield) to work on building highly reliable in-space mesh networks and designing secure systems for national security efforts.

Skills

Development experience in C/C++ or Python
Solid fundamental knowledge of computer architecture and networks
Strong skills in debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing

Responsibilities

Create highly reliable software systems to control satellites in low earth orbit
Leverage software design to improve satellite constellation performance and security
Work on next-gen communication and sensing software
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and build satellite capabilities

Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or STEM discipline; OR 2+ years of professional experience in software development
Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret or Top Secret SCI clearance
