The Opportunity:
This position affords an immediate opportunity to apply analytical, problem-solving and communication skills. The file clerk is responsible for maintaining the Financial Services department’s records. The individual will code, file and retrieve records as needed and ensure system is well organized. This individual will also collect, organize, and transport documents to the filing system as they appear. Among items handled by the file clerk are invoices, check stubs and correspondence.
The following tasks will be performed:
Add new material to file records, and create new records as necessary.
Eliminate outdated or unnecessary materials, destroying them or transferring them to inactive storage according to file maintenance guidelines and/or legal requirements.
Find and retrieve information from files in response to requests from authorized users.
Place materials into storage receptacles, such as file cabinets, boxes, bins, or drawers, according to classification and identification information.
Scan or read incoming materials in order to determine how and where they should be classified or filed.
Sort or classify information according to guidelines such as content, purpose, user criteria, or chronological, alphabetical, or numerical order.
Track materials removed from files in order to ensure that borrowed files are returned.
Gather materials to be filed from departments and employees.
Qualifications
The Requirements:
We are seeking a candidate with a minimum of 0 to 2 years of work experience. Responsibilities include ability to assemble files and file information utilizing alphabetical and numerical filing guidelines. Organize and prioritize numerous tasks while completing under time constraints. Possess a commitment to excellence and high standards of accuracy. Must be self-directed and take initiative.
