Software Engineer I

Responsibilities Noblis is seeking to hire a Software Developer with an ACTIVE Top Secret/SCI Clearance in Lorton, VA Interested in meaningfully contributing and joining our multi-disciplinary team focused on d eveloping solutions for law enforcement and homeland security missions?  Want to be exposed to and help build cutting-edge tools and services that address high-consequence problems using advanced technology like analytics, computer vision, digital forensics, natural language processing, and machine learning?  Ready for a high-energy, dynamic work environment?  This multi-faceted opportunity might be right for you.You would join our team as a Software Developer to support a law enforcement program that engages with clients and end users to design, create, deploy, migrate and maintain digital solutions that are transforming the way law enforcement and intelligence communities handle, process, analyze, visualize, and translate information into actionable information.Responsibilities• Provides engineering and technical support in areas of design, development, engineering, research, evaluation, deployment, integration, and maintenance of software and systems, whether on the front-end, back-end, or as a full-stack.• Writes application code, automated tests, and informs deployment procedures.• Conducts design and code reviews, participates in daily scrums, retrospective, and other agile ceremonies.• Coordinates with the development team to support QA/QC and troubleshooting activities.• Provides assistance monitoring and resolving issues with deployed systems.Required Qualifications• Must possess an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain CI Polygraph.• Bachelor of Science in Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, and a minimum of 8 years of related experience OR Master’s Degree in Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, with 5+ years of experience.• Possess hands on experience and ability to work tasks with Python, HTML/CSS/Javascript, Vue.js, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, Redis, RabbitMQ, or Kafka, as well as:• Scripting and programming languages like Java, C#, Shell Scripting, or Groovy.• Development frameworks like React, Spring Boot, or Bootstrap.• Microservice architectures, software platforms, and frameworks like NiFi or Ansible.• Monolithic and hybrid architectures and databases like PostgreSQL, Oracle, Cassandra, rdbms, or NoSQL.• Version control systems such as Git, CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, or container orchestration platforms such as Docker.• You have hands on experience on the front-end, back-end, and/or full stack and have the ability to work some or all tasks across the software development lifecycle – from database, backend services, APIs, web frontend, migration/deployment scripts, tests, and documentation.• You have hands-on experience with writing and maintaining automated tests (unit, integration, stress, load, etc.)• You have working knowledge of Agile software development frameworks (Scrum and SAFe) and have hands on experience with continuous integration, continuous delivery practices.• You have working knowledge of the following Atlassian products: Jira/Zephyr, Confluence, or Fisheye.• You are willing to support the client on-site with hybrid option as tasking allows.Desired Qualifications• You desire to work in an agile and cross functional team environment, understand team goals and generate appropriate, innovative analytical insights to drive process and experience improvements.• You challenge the status quo and desire to explore, evaluate, and understand new technologies.• Has experience supporting law enforcement clients.• Ability to work across the stack or willingness to expand scope of software development experience.• Ability to work in fast paced environment.• Ability to adapt and learn new methodologies and technologies.• Ability to work with teams across geographic bounds.OverviewNoblis and our wholly owned subsidiaries, Noblis ESI , and Noblis MSD tackle the nation's toughest problems and apply advanced solutions to our clients' most critical missions. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours.
