Role:

Our Fulfillment Operations and Engineering team is looking for a Cloud Capacity Analyst to support our Cloud Capacity and Vendor Management function. This role is for you if you possess a blend of technical skills and business knowledge, are attentive to detail, possess critical thinking, and have a passion for streamlining. Responsibilities:

As Cloud Capacity Analyst you will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and reserving capacity across various cloud platforms, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will develop processes, and build standardization to forecast capacity for all the Splunk cloud consumption across the Cloud Service Providers by working with the cross-functional teams and their management.

Capacity Management

  • Work closely with Cloud Service Providers to manage the reservation of cloud resources, such as virtual machines to ensure availability for both day-to-day business operations and for peak periods.
  • Proactively identify and address capacity bottlenecks to ensure optimal Splunk cloud performance.
  • Facilitate triage of any capacity-related issues by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Cross-functional collaboration

  • Collaborate with Splunk teams to assess current and future cloud capacity needs.
  • Engage with various vendors to help reserve the capacity for Splunk cloud business-critical functions.
  • Develop strategies for efficient capacity resource allocation and utilization.
  • Provide enablement to teams on seamless adoption of improved reservation processes and tools.

Reporting and Oversight

  • Implement recurring communications for leadership on ongoing cloud capacity programs.
  • Provide updates to the leadership and the Splunk working teams about capacity reservation challenges across the organization.
  • Create and maintain documentation of capacity reservations, metrics, and cost optimization efforts.
  • Create documentation for processes, training, and operational support.

Requirements:

  • Good interpersonal communication, both written and verbal, skills, including bridging communication between vendors and internal teams - Engineering, product, and information technology communities.
  • Proven experience in driving large and small-scale programs that span the organization to completion.
  • Ability to conduct process analysis, documentation, and improvement on cloud computing environments.
  • Solid understanding of Cloud Service Providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their offerings.
  • Excellent analytical skills and detail-oriented approach with the ability to identify process gaps, and propose effective solutions while maintaining high accuracy in documentation.
  • Prior experience with large vendor portfolios is advantageous.

Education: Got it!

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications for process and/or operational improvement (e.g.: Six Sigma)
  • Relevant certifications that showcase experience with CSPs (e.g.: AWS, Azure, GCP)

Note:

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $107,200.00 - 147,400.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $96,000.00 - 132,000.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $80,000.00 - 110,000.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
