Quality Inspector - Mechanical/Composites - Level 2

We are seeking two Quality Inspector with expertise in inspection of machined and composite aircraft parts & components. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in quality inspection within aerospace or manufacturing and possess the ability to independently develop and validate inspection plans and detailed work instructions.


What to expect:
  • This is a 6-month contract position in which you will support our client at their supplier site in Marion, VA on a full-time basis. You will be part of a global inspection team assuring the quality of components and assemblies that this global aerospace leader is sourcing from one or more suppliers in this area. Once on the team, you will be deployed through SQA’s operations center based on client needs and each supplier’s production schedule.


What you’ll do:
  • You will be conducting the visual & dimensional inspections of composite parts and components at our client's supplier site in Marion, VA. In-process and final source inspection of mechanical parts. Read and interpret standard manufacturing drawings based on industry and commodity standards.
  • You will be working on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift


What you’ll need:
  • 4+ years of hands-on inspection experience with precision machined parts knowledge and hands-on experience working with various inspection tools (i.e. calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, etc.)
  • Experience with the inspection of composite materials
  • GD&T experience is required experience.
  • Note: Mechanical inspectors at this level are capable of validating dimensions (total tolerances >/=.005” with Minimal GD&T validation) utilizing standard hand tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gages)
  • U.S. Citizenship is required


$30 - $31 an hour
Mileage Compensation ($0.67 per mile driven to and from the supplier site on a daily basis)
