The advent of Generative AI has provided a transcendental change to machine learning. How to accelerate the adoption of these LLMs while still maintaining security, accuracy, and low latency? The key lies with an enabling engineering platform. We are evolving a ground-breaking platform spark the potential of AI enabling the release of models providing our customers with outstanding experiences! The platform will provide data scientists, analysts and leaders essential capabilities through natural language prompts. We are growing our squad group in CKSI with the creation of a new platform squad leader. We are looking for a creative problem-solver with the technical knowledge to continue innovating the platform by providing capabilities to support Generative AI. We seek an intellectually curious, and technically savvy individual, that can connect with AI leaders and business partners with an entrepreneurial spirit to push the art of the possible. You will partner with

  • Business collaborators to identify/prioritize feature engineering requirements to create an enterprise-wide solution
  • Architects, engineers and data scientists to transform large structured and unstructured data sources into training/inference ready features
  • Cross' business unit partners relying on subject area knowledge to transform Generative AI into the critical use cases
  • Group, chapter and product leaders collaborating to turn strategy into road map into delivery

The ideal candidate will blend experience in AI/NLP/Open Source/Tech knowledge with hands-on experience building ML pipelines. Our work spans across different business units. This offers an outstanding opportunity to explore novel and complex challenges that could profoundly transform the future of the financial industry.

The successful candidate must relish collaborating and partnering with business, software engineers, data scientists and analysts to deploy solutions into production. A strong passion for ML feature building and the desire to invest independent time towards learning, researching, and experimenting with new innovations in the field is vital. Providing an environment encouraging initiative in technical innovation is required. Knowledge of the generative AI ecosystem is crucial.

The Role

The mission of the platform/squad leader steers the platform to tailor customer experiences across touchpoints. The skills to identify and scope requirements to prioritized the work, assign resources and rally the squad together to complete objectives cannot be underestimated.

The right candidate ensures alignment on the “what” and “when” of the work performed by the squad through ongoing planning and prioritization, to enable the squad to work iteratively, experiment where vital, celebrate successes, and learn from failures. The leader will act as a role modeling promoting agile and Fidelity leadership principles maintaining an innovative agile culture.

The Expertise You Have

The Squad Leader will work with various product teams and channel execution owners within Fidelity to prioritize and deliver use cases/feature development and realize business value.

  • Advanced degree in Applied Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, coupled with familiarity with ML libraries, deep learning and reinforcement learning or related technical fields.
  • Significant knowledge in the tools and capabilities of similarity search, vector libraries and in-memory databases particularly with their integration with LLMs
  • 5+ years of first-person experience building and leading teams in machine learning and ml engineering.
  • At least 3 years of product strategy experience crafting and building platforms for data science platforms. Financial services experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven track record to translate product and capability roadmaps into short-term, tactical delivery plans. Scrum experience ideal but not required.
  • Written and verbal skills with the ability to present sophisticated technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non-technical leaders.

The Team

This role is part of Data & Advanced Analytics Platform (DAAP) product area in AI Data Science Cluster and works in partnership with the Group Squad Leader, Chapter Leaders, Product Area, and Chapter Leaders across Fidelity.
