Sr Commercial Billing Specialist (Remote)

Overview:
As a Senior Commercial Billing Specialist, you will be on the floor or in the Senior Help Queue acting as first point of contact for all Commercial Billing Specialists and the Commercial Sales organization for all functions performed by the Commercial Billing Specialists team. You will conduct quality audits, monitor TLT’s and provide remote monitoring with real-time coaching of Commercial Billing Specialists. You will assist with questions, provide guidance and support, explain processes, procedures, assist in trouble shooting and thinking of "out of box” solutions for all customer issues.

You will be responsible for:
  • All complex trouble resolution which includes, but is not limited to, review of initial orders, provisioning and billing entry.
  • Internal and external escalations. This position is designed so that the Specialists will be able to focus their attention on mainstream orders that do not have problems. This position is designed to diminish the amount of time that the Associate Managers spend on escalations and problem orders.
  • Resolving, tracking, and providing a summary for management of all TLT’s reported to the Commercial Billing Specialists.
  • Identifying service and billing affecting troubles caused by Commercial Billing and notifying Management of quality and training issues.
  • Provide 1st level coaching to Commercial Billing Specialists on process and quality related issues.
  • 1st level escalations and troubles for Commercial Billing Order Processing.
  • Process documentation and continuous process improvement.
  • Testing and providing expertise on processes that are impacted by new product initiatives. This includes testing of order entry systems, attending PAC sessions to discuss processes and identify barriers to product roll outs. Provides expertise on process initiatives.
  • Knowing and understanding all aspects of the Commercial Specialist Position.
This position has the ability to work remotely in any of the 40+ States in which TDS Telecom operates.

The pay range listed for this position represents the low and high end of the base compensation range. The actual offer amount will carefully consider multiple factors, such as relevant skills, qualifications, work experience, location and/or competencies that align with the specified role. Certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses and equity awards.

Responsibilities:
  • Advise Commercial Billing Specialists on technical issues concerning internal and external process related to billing, ordering issues, products and systems used in the ordering process. Seniors offer ideas/solutions and coaches to solve customer billing issues. Calculate early termination charges for our Commercial customer product set. This includes, but not limited to reviewing the customers SABRE account(s) as well as any applicable TSA, Amendment, or Addendum. Submit the SDM requests to the SABRE Billing team for establishing NPA/NXXs into Out of Territory Regions.
  • Handle first level escalations, special needs customers, pass high level escalations on to Associate Manager, as necessary. Follow escalations through to resolution and provide final follow-up to customer. Requires forming good relationships with the Commercial Sales Organization as well as other internal TDS departments. Manage all manual commercial billing requests outside the standard order process, this includes but not limited to requests received from NetOps.
  • Routinely audit team production and conduct Quality Audits of Commercial Billing Specialists work. Provide Quality Coaching/Training to Commercial Billing Specialists as well as report progress to Associate Manager.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree or higher OR 2+ years professional work experience
  • 1+ years data entry experience
  • 1+ years telephony experience
  • Must follow the TDS attendance guidelines to meet our customers' needs
Other Qualifications:
  • 1+ years experience in Order Processing and/or Billing required.
  • Use of the "common sense approach" and global thinking.
  • Prior training or coaching experience a plus.
  • Performance/ Quality Assurance experience preferred.
  • High level of expertise in UTS, COBRA, MetaSolv, SABRE, RNW, SAG, BMS, MSAG and Crystal Enterprise, INAT, SFA, Service Availability, Bandwidth Portal, 911.net, SOA, VERIGATE, and IMA.
  • A strong logical persuasion & mathematical background – must be analytical.
  • Ability to look at data objectively and without bias.
  • Extremely reliable, efficient, and able to adapt quickly to new challenges, tasks, and systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize escalations.

Associates scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week have access to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off benefits such as vacation (15 days accrued per year for full-time; pro-rated for part-time associates working between 20-39 hours), sick leave (10 days accrued per year for full-time and pro-rated for all other associates), seven paid national holidays and one floating holiday, paid parental leave (2 weeks after 12 months of employment), among others. Short Term Disability and Long Term Disability coverage is also available for associates working 30 or more hours per week and Education Assistance is available to full-time associates.
