Sr Data Architect

The Sr Data Architect reports directly to the CIO and is a key member of the IT Leadership team. The Sr Data Architect is responsible for overseeing the strategic enterprise data initiatives in support of market leading software solutions in the credit repair space. This role is responsible for the overall leadership of the enterprise data management strategy, including enterprise data architecture, cloud solutions data architecture, and business systems data transformation and architecture. The incumbent must be both technically credible and interpersonally focused. Among other responsibilities they will help define the systems of record, data sharing strategy, data storage strategy, and data minimization strategy. This is a senior technical role without direct reports. This means that they must coordinate across departments to accomplish collaborative goals.

Required Skills:

• Solid understanding of most common data modeling concepts and current best practices around data management
• Expertise in financial services data domain
• Exhibit an Agile mindset — i.e., good enough/MVP approach vs. perfection.
• Prior work experience working in technical and financial services environments.
• Significant background with data engineering and overall data management skills
• Good communications skills and ability to communicate in a clear and concise professional manner, tailored to the appropriate audience; including both verbal and written communications.
• Ability to lead and work collaboratively within a business unit team and have strong influencing skills.
• Must be a self-starter and keen to explore new solutions

Job Responsibilities:

• Improves and ensures the overall quality of the enterprise information assets
• Improves information flows, including ease of access and use of information assets
• Bridges the needs of business units with the technical teams to lead the design, availability or utilization of information across the enterprise
• Conducts research, identifies gaps and designs new data management solutions
• Help DBAs, Data Engineers, and Data Analysts to grow their skills and experience relating to the sharing, management and maintenance of data across the organization
• Supporting development and maintenance activities to ensure they are in line with the enterprise architecture — data models and roadmap defined there.
• Maintaining repositories for representing the data elements including the entities, relationships and attributes, the information flows, and business glossary.
• Encouraging a data citizenship mindset, ensuring we all collectively take responsibility and accountability for the data we create, consume, manage and share. Implement technical and process improvements that are causal to most critical data management needs
• Take ownership for enterprise data initiatives, and negotiate the allocation of resources toward long-term strategic initiatives with the various value stream teams
