The Role

We are currently seeking a Sr. Hardware Engineering Architect, BMS. This position will report directly to the Hardware Director for Electrification. The role is located in Van Buren Township, Michigan. The team is an Electrification Hardware team that focuses on battery management and power electronic controls. The projects will focus on advanced and future generation systems. Our ideal candidate exhibits a start-up attitude and approaches his or her work with engineering excellence. Candidates will possess the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.

• Develop next generation BMS technology
• Be a technical leader in battery management systems
• Own the BMS hardware roadmap
• Create scalable Electrification systems

On a typical project, you will interface with the core electrification team

• Work closely with our product line teams, customers, and suppliers

More specifically you will

• Architect and design an electrification solution to meet current and future customer needs
• Collaborate with Global SMEs on architecture and design solutions to meet global customer needs
• Work closely with our software team to deliver best in class electrification products

The Requirements

To be a good fit for you will have:

• MS with over 10 years of experience, or PhD with over 5 years of experience
• Automotive experience
• Hands on experience in digital and analog circuit design
• Deep understanding of battery management system and its technology trend
• Experience in PCB design, using schematic capture and layout tools
• Good understanding of design for manufacturing, quality control and FMEA
• Knowledge of environmental, reliability requirement for automotive, industrial and energy storage applications
• Battery system trouble shooting experience
• Large volume product development experience
• Experience in systems engineering
• Prior engineering management experience preferred
