Sr. Interior Designer (MLB)

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for facilitating the Customer selection of interior and exterior design elements along with supporting the configuration and options specification of all models of Embraer Executive Jets defined and requested by Customers and the Embraer Executive Aircraft sales and proposals teams.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Support the Customer in the selection process as a trusted advisor representing their tastes and wishes in the selectable elements of their aircraft.
  • Prepare records of Customer selections including contractual documentation, such as interior and exterior design renderings, color boards and materials data to document selections of the Customer for the Embraer Executive Aircraft Business Unit.
  • Assist the Design and Configuration Manager in identification of new market trends and selectable materials to update and refresh the product offerings in accordance with Embraer Executive Aircraft brand standards, Customer expectations and corporate objectives.
  • Ensures timely aircraft interior and exterior design package submittals to Customer (to include floor plan, elevation, styling, and material specifications and finish lists as defined by Embraer Executive Aircraft.
  • Participates in aircraft project Sales, pre-Contract, Proposals and Customer design reviews.
  • Evaluates current aircraft interior and exterior design standards to identify and recommend opportunities for product improvement and/or value engineering.
  • Reviews, and comments upon, aircraft project specifications/proposals; provides input to Design project budgets and schedules
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education:

  • BS/BA Degree from accredited college or university in Interior Design or Aviation or Engineering-related degree
  • Certified Interior Designer preferred.

Experience:

  • Consultant Level Individual Contributor on a functional group. Generally 8-10 years of experience in a specialized functional discipline of Interior Design experience – Aviation related preferred.
  • Experience in design rendering, technical writing and/or report creation a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge in a specialty area and in all other interrelated tasks and responsibilities of the job function.
  • Role takes leadership for applying new processes and skills to improve the function's status quo.
  • Customer focused with good relationship building skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers.
  • Knowledge of executive aircraft and the executive aviation market
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Must possess good written and oral presentation skills and the ability to communicate ideas effectively to both customers and senior management.
  • Proficient computer skills with use of Microsoft Office applications and 3DMax/Photoshop or related photo quality rendering software preferred. Experience with CATIA helpful
  • Effective time management and organizational skills; ability to become involved in a number of projects in a fast paced work environment.
  • Working Conditions / Environment/ Special Requirements
  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.
  • Employees will be subject to the random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations.
  • Frequently travel to Customer locations is required.
