Job Description

HOW THE SR. PROGRAM MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

In a typical day you will:

  • Manages substantial program/technical support operations involving multiple projects/task orders and personnel at diverse locations. Responsibilities typically include identifying customer requirements, developing a plan for service delivery, identifying, recruiting, and hiring appropriate resources to ensure timely completion and final delivery of services to the customer.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills necessary to inspire, lead, directs and manages program team members while being responsible for the successful completion of program management, customer relationship management, technical work, staff supervision, risk management, financial budget and forecasting
  • Establish, maintain, and expand strong customer relationships via face-to-face meetings, informal tag-ups, and open communication
  • Directs program/task activities to meet client and organization work objectives and serves as a liaison with clients to coordinate activities, negotiate tasks, and solve problems.
  • Performs and supports business development activities at all stages, including the preparation and review of technical and cost proposals. Identifies and captures opportunities for organic growth within assigned areas and supports enterprise growth activities.
  • Ensures proper relationships are established between customers, teaming partners, and vendors to facilitate the delivery of information technology services.
  • Develops plans, including budgets and schedules, and monitors tasks to meet contractual/project requirements
  • Responsible for profitability and revenue growth of assigned program(s), with the responsibility to meet or exceed financial targets
  • Collaborates and works closely with other functions to include Contracts, Subcontracts, Security, Human Resources and Finance
  • Assesses program/task order issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
  • Performs and monitors program financial management services, including financial analysis, budget and cost quote preparation, cost management, reconciliation, and profit enhancement.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant corporate and government policies and standards.
  • As a PMO team member, help set and execute account strategic vision.
  • Participates in special projects as required

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science and 5+ years of related experience (preferred but not required)

Required Experience:

  • 10+ years of IT experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Program Manager successfully managing multiple, concurrent task orders with an aggregate annual value over $10M
  • Work under pressure - This is a highly collaborative position that requires ability to work under pressure and under challenging deadlines of quick turnaround staffing proposals that have GDIT leadership visibility
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of managing the cost, schedule, and technical performance requirements of multiple programs through all phases from inception to completion
  • Ability to analyze, organize and summarize data to ensure accurate records and reporting are maintained throughout the project life cycle.
  • Ability to adjust well in constantly changing environments

Security Clearance Level:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to be a U.S. Citizen and to have resided in the US for the past five years. The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days.
