Program/Project Manager I

Overview

SRI’s Information and Computing Systems (ICS) Division is looking for a part-time Project Manager to join the Division staff. The Project Manager I is responsible for performing various project management tasks for small to moderate-sized research projects/proposals or managing tasks in response to senior staff requests on large projects. The Project Manager I provides project management support, specifically by tracking progress of project milestones, reporting to and consulting with project leaders on work progress, making recommendations for project procedures, monitoring budgets and forecasts, monitoring and working with subcontractors and vendors, scheduling and coordinating data collection in the field, creating and maintaining project documents and databases such as schedules and status reports for clients, and synthesizing and reporting progress on work plans.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees moderately complex project management tasks daily, interacts with project staff, and monitors time and budget commitments.
  • Develops and, with support from project leads, implements/maintains processes and procedures to support/monitor workflow and budget, produces project documentation, and coordinates between tasks and staff within a project.
  • Surfaces potential issues in meeting client requirements on time, with high quality, and to completion to project leads
  • Completes tasks as assigned by project leads or senior staff.
  • Coordinates and facilitates technical and administrative support communication.
  • Contributes to agenda development, distributes meeting minutes, and facilitates meetings in absence of project leader.
  • Assists in the development of training plans and project documentation.
  • Assists in budget preparation, review and approve purchase orders, expense reports, and will assist project leaders by monitoring project financial status and project funding levels.
  • Prepares regular reports on project status.
  • Contributes to the development of subcontractor, vendor, and consulting agreements.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience, with 2-3 years of related experience in project management.
  • Due to government contract requirements candidates must be a U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident
  • Exemplary customer service skills.
  • Very Strong proficiency in Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
  • Ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines and shifting demands.
  • Discretion and maturity in dealing with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A positive attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to be self-directed as well as work collaboratively in a team environment. 

The salary range is: $90,000/annually. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
