The Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is one of 17 United States Department of Energy (DOE) National Laboratories. Managed and operated by Battelle Savannah River Alliance (BSRA), a non-profit limited liability company, or LLC, which best facilitates our operations as an independent Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC).

The BSRA university partners include the University of South Carolina, Clemson University, South Carolina State University, Georgia Tech, the University of Georgia.

What You'll Do in This Position

Savannah River SRNL is seeking an experienced enterprise Microsoft M365/Exchange Administrator and Collaboration specialist that will lead SRNL in the migration into a new Microsoft 365 (M365) GCC Commercial tenant.

The Office 365 and Exchange implementation lead will provide consultation and hands-on implementation support to an Office 365 and Exchange migration including design, architecture, configuration, migration best practices, and strategies to support Office 365.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Support management in gathering and analyzing requirements, technical implementation of Office 365 and support of the Office 365 tenant.
  • Work with team members and external service providers to develop the solution path for migration from one Office 365 Tenant to another.
  • Manage the execution the migration.
  • Work very closely with Solutions Engineers, Senior Cloud Engineers, Cloud Engineers, and have project management experience for O365 migrations and implementations.
  • Stay up to date on O365 changes MS releases around each M365 product including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, etc.
  • Lead activities around O365 licensing, and experience in managing user access.
  • Develop, Maintain and update O365 governance documentation with O365 product owners.
  • Maintain PowerShell scripts used to manage\support the O365 environment for multiple apps.
  • Partner with IT and other workgroups for the integration of applications that support Office 365 solutions.
  • Assist staff with troubleshooting complex technical issues experienced by internal personnel.
  • Coordinate and communicate system maintenance as needed.
  • Coordinate the resolution of production issues experienced by O365 users with implementation support teams.
  • Apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving problems that are complex in scope, requiring in-depth evaluation as well as the ability to identify problems in advance, and propose solutions.
Security Clearance Information

BSRA is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with BSRA may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. This list of factors is not exhaustive; pre-employment information and security clearance requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Qualifications We Require

Bachelor's degree in a related discipline with a minimum of 10 years demonstrated experience; a combination of education, professional certifications, and direct experience may be used to meet educational requirement.
  • Experience migrating various business units to single, Office 365 environment.
  • Microsoft Office 365's Cloud suite including Office, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive
  • Engineering Single Sign On (SSO).
  • A proven level of experience with Exchange 2016 or greater and Exchange Hybrid servers.
  • A proven level of competence with Windows servers, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory and PowerShell.
  • Understanding of ADFS and AD Connect.
  • Windows Server 2016-2019.
  • Email Gateway Systems.
  • DNS Record Management.
  • Exchange Online Protection.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of competency in managing technical projects.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Understanding Azure, SharePoint, Security Groups.
Other Qualifications

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.

Qualifications We Desire

  • Significant knowledge of Office 365 platform (including SharePoint and TEAMS), MS Exchange, M365 admin services, and associated configurations.
  • Must possess strong collaboration skills.
  • Project management experience implementing and maintaining Office 365 and MS Exchange solutions.
  • Hands on administration experience with Microsoft Office 365 cloud technologies, such as, Azure, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Teams Voice, and Intune.
  • Stays up to date on O365 changes MS releases around each M365 product including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, etc.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with limited supervision and direction.
Desirable qualifications:
  • Intune, TEAMS VTC, and Teams Voice experience a plus.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Experience in Federal Government and/or higher educational environments desired.
