MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE:
The main purpose of the Business Partner and Planning role in a wind farm is to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency within the renewable energy sector. This position involves analyzing market trends, financial performance, and project feasibility to inform management decisions. Additionally, it focuses on fostering collaboration among various departments and engaging with external stakeholders to ensure that the wind farm meets its strategic objectives while complying with regulatory requirements. Ultimately, the role aims to optimize business performance and drive the successful implementation of renewable energy projects.
KEY MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :
Strategic Planning:
- Collaborate with various business units to develop and execute strategic plans that align with organizational goals.
- Analyze market trends and internal performance metrics to provide insights for business strategy.
Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial modeling and forecasting to support decision-making.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis to identify areas for improvement.
Business Partnership:
- Act as a liaison between finance and operational teams, facilitating communication and collaboration.
- Support business leaders in understanding financial implications of their strategies and decisions.
Performance Management:
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess business performance.
- Provide regular reports and insights to stakeholders to drive performance improvement initiatives.
Project Support:
- Assist in the evaluation and prioritization of business initiatives and projects.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure financial considerations are incorporated into project planning.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with departments to develop and consolidate budgets.
- Regularly update forecasts based on actual performance and changing business conditions.
Risk Management:
- Conduct risk assessments related to financial performance, and provide recommendations for mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
- Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect and analyze data related to operational performance and market conditions.
- Prepare reports and presentations for management, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
Compliance and Regulatory Management:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to renewable energy projects.
- Assist in preparing documentation for permits and regulatory submissions.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, business analysis, or strategic planning roles.
• Proven experience in a business partnership capacity, working closely with senior management and crossfunctional teams.
• Understanding of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive analysis relevant to the organization.
• Professional certifications such as CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) are a plus.
• Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools, along with experience using ERP or financial management software.
• Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives, manage stakeholders, and influence decisions at all levels of the organization.
