Job Purpose:
Oversee the effective design, implementation, and communication of UAT activities within the UAT team.
In this position ensuring the adoption of rigorous testing processes, fostering collaboration, and maintaining adherence to PMO standards throughout the development lifecycle is key to consider the UAT team a successful endeavor that adds value to the company group.
The successful candidate will leverage their experience in insurance/TPA operations and leadership positions to identify ways to motivate the UAT team and drive performance and commitment to adding value as part of company commitment to continuous improvement and market-leading solutions.
Key Performance Indicators:
•Timely completion of planned schedules, team progress rates, and adherence to commitments.
• Team readiness to manage/ implement UAT activities with minimum intervention of business owners in the UAT planning and testing lifecycle activities.
• Adherence to PMO documentation requirements, quality standards, and project management practices. Key Accountabilities Team Leadership & Management.
• Lead, mentor, and guide a team of UAT testers, providing ongoing coaching, feedback, and consistent guidance on expectations and the team’s impact on the overall business vision.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members aligning individual development with organizational needs.
• Develop and implement governance framework, standard documentation, comprehensive test strategies and plans, ensuring alignment with PMO and, IT team. Project Management & Oversight.
• Oversee the UAT activities across multiple projects simultaneously.
• Oversee the implementation of comprehensive test strategies and plans, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
• Ensure the team is adhering to defined timelines, planning strategies, and documentation requirements.
• Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate potential risks, and escalate issues as needed to the PMO and IT team.
• Develop and consistently audit adherence to quality standards, testing methodologies, and best practices.
Requirements Analysis & Testing:
• Work closely with functional business owners to become a comprehensive expert in MN systems (integrations, process workflows, system architecture, and business governance).
• Actively participate in the review and analysis of business requirements documents (BRDs), user stories, use cases, and solutions specifications.
• Review and approve test plans, test cases, and testing approaches proposed by the team.
• Oversee the implementation of comprehensive test plans and test cases, including functional testing, integration, user acceptance testing, and data integrity.
• Guide the team in the selection and implementation of appropriate testing tools and technologies.
• Identify and document any gaps, ambiguities, or inconsistencies between business requirements, implemented solutions, and business owners’ expectations.
• Proactively identify areas for improvement in testing processes and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes and system performance.
• Collaborate with operational teams, Project Manager or IT team as required to facilitate knowledge transfer and projects handover.
Internal:
• Liaison with all operational departments to ensure the UAT team becomes the knowledge hub for all company Systems, aligning quality standards, testing best practices, and solution implementations to the ultimate business goal.
• Collaborates and supports PMO in actively delivering value, managing UAT activities, and ensuring PMO practices and standards are followed throughout the organization.
• Closely works with the Information Technology team and vendors to bridge any knowledge gaps between business owners and technical teams.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
• 5 to 8 years of experience in a UAT and/or Quality Assurance role within the healthcare or insurance industry, with at least 3 years of experience in a team leadership position.
• Understanding of core operational processes within the healthcare/insurance domain, including (PBM, medical authorizations, claims processing, and member enrolment).
• Proven experience in leading and mentoring UAT/QA teams or previous positions as product owner.
• Experience in reviewing and analyzing business requirements documents (BRDs), user stories, and design specifications.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and opportunities for improvement and collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring the requirement to life.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with a focus on data quality and process integrity.
• Excellent command of the English language, being comfortable with technical and industry terminology.
Required Competencies:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other relevant software tools
• Sound knowledge of testing methodologies, technical terminology, tools, and technologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps, test automation frameworks, API testing)
• Familiarity with software development methodologies: (e.g., Agile, Scrum, SAFE)
• Experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, MySQL)
• Experience with Project Management tools (Jira, Smartsheet, Service Desk)
• Knowledge of ITIL Framework (implementation of Release and Change Management Practices)
• Knowledge of programming languages (Java, Python, C++, JavaScript) is a plus (highly regarded)
