Creates policies and positions which promote and advance the mission of SSM Health in the legislative and regulatory arenas. Provides expertise to organization in one or more external markets working collaboratively with public policy leadership on civic, state and federal affairs.Job Responsibilities and Requirements:Primary Responsibilities• Oversees independent analysis of the impact of health policy on SSM Health including the identification of opportunities and risks; and communicating those items to internal and external stakeholders.• Participates in corporate strategic planning sessions and internal and external speaking engagements as needed. Independently represents SSM Health and affiliates at events and conferences.• Serves as an organizational liaison to industry groups and other stakeholders.• Ensures effective use of investments in industry associations, i.e. memberships, sponsorships and meeting attendance.• Builds brand awareness and develops relationships with stakeholders through advocacy, lobbying efforts, conference participation, and other like activities.• Assists the internal departments in efforts that impact key performance indicators, which help fulfill the organization’s mission.• Responsible for hiring, training and monitoring lobbyists when needed.• Responsible for managing or mentoring internal government relations staff, if applicable.• Participates in proposal strategy and may lead proposal teams to include coordinating work effort, following through, and meeting deadlines.• Responsible for planning and budgeting of the government relations program.• Performs other duties as assigned.Education• Bachelor’s degreeExperience• Seven years’ experience, with five years’ leadershipDepartment:8800000033 Vice President Public AffairsWork Shift:Day Shift (United States of America)Scheduled Weekly Hours:40SSM Health is an equal opportunity employer.
