Located within the Tri Delta House, the Volunteer and Special Events Assistant is responsible for providing support to the Volunteer and Special Events Coordinator by assisting with various aspects of the planning, coordination and implementation of events, volunteer recruitment and... orientation for Parcels and Target House. • *The shift for this role will be 10:30am-7:00pm with some weekends.** The Volunteer and Special Events Assistant is responsible for providing support to the Volunteer and Special Events Coordinator by assisting with various aspects of the planning, coordination and implementation of events, volunteer recruitment and orientation for the Tri Delta House. Other duties include: • Preparing materials, serving as the on-site facilitator ensuring a successful event for all parties involved, and utilizing creative abilities through planning and execution of events. This role must have good communication skills, organization skills, and conflict resolution abilities. Job Responsibilities: • Plans, schedules, and implements patient events and activities at the Tri Delta House • Trains volunteers on assigned duties • Provides correspondence with volunteer groups on upcoming events, and follow-up after events helping to maintain good rapport • Maintains reports on daily events • Prepares monthly calendar of events and distribute to required groups • Plans events as needed to ensure a full calendar of activities • Assists with volunteer recognitions to help with retention and show gratitude of volunteer support • Promote effective working relations with volunteers • Exhibit a positive disposition with families and volunteers • Prepares monthly bulletin boards coinciding with a theme • Decorate common areas and dining room according to the season/holiday/event • Assists with facility tours of organizations and volunteer groups • Assists volunteer groups with meals, activities, or entertainment for families • Review volunteer guidelines and help ensure volunteers adhere to policies during events • Ensure volunteers are engaged during their visit • Assure families and volunteers have a positive experience • De-escalates situations that arise among patient families during events • Identifies volunteer needs for activities, chores, Trolley Cart, and Pantry as well as provide assistance in these areas as needed • Collect and enter volunteer data in database • Events and tasks will require the ability to work nights and some weekends and holidays • Maintains regular and predictable attendance • Performs other related duties as assigned or directed in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department. Minimum Education and/or Training: • Associate Degree required, preferably in Hotel Hospitality, Liberal Arts, Education, or related field. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
