Staff Accountant

About the Role

We are looking for an ambitious Staff Accountant who is passionate about playing a critical role in scaling our fast growing company. You will help support not only the finance team but the whole organization in complex accounting areas to ensure the integrity of the financial statements and drive insights across business units. What you will be doing

• Own expense accounting. This includes managing bill pay workflows from document receipt through approval, payment, and reviewing virtual card requests in our spend management system Airbase. You'll ensure accurate coding in our Netsuite accounting system and leverage accrual accounting automations
• Prepare account reconciliations as part of the month-end close using Velocity. Additionally, assist with other month, quarter, and year-end close activities
• Analyze the financial statements on a monthly basis to identify relationships and drivers of material account fluctuations

• Support annual audits, income tax compliance, sales tax compliance, and payroll

• Identify areas for improvement on existing processes, and create new ones where there are gaps
• Ad hoc accounting projects and requests, as needed

What we're looking for

• Degree in Accounting or Finance, or planned completion of your degree by Spring 2022
• Proficient with Excel and Google Workspace
• Strong problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Ability to work independently and reliably in a remote work environment

Preferred experience

• A CPA license or parts of the CPA examination complete
