Staff Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY

The purpose of the Staff Accountant position is to manage banking and treasury reconciliations within the organization as well as provide support for accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

    Download bank detail daily from multiple banks
    Post and clear daily banking entries for multiple accounts
    Prepare daily and month end bank reconciliations
    Reconcile client funds and provide daily and monthly summaries
    Maintenance and organization of electronic client files
    Client contact information maintenance
    Outstanding payment follow up for multiple accounts
    Processing Tax payments, as needed
    Booking various AP and AR related journal entries, as needed
    Accounts payable and Accounts receivable processing, as needed
    Miscellaneous projects as requested by Accounting/Finance Managers or Chief Operating Officer
    Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. One to two years’ work experience preferred. Knowledge of business operations (AP, AR, payroll, etc) a plus.

Ability to speak, hear, see, and sit; ability to speak, read and write in English; excellent problem solving, analytical and organizational skills; excellent interpersonal skills; excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, internet; ability to develop long-term plans and programs and to evaluate work accomplishments; ability to apply and adapt practices and techniques to the special requirements of senior management; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other management staff, employees, and the general public; ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form; good delegation, management and leadership abilities.
