PCS profoundly changes how Starbucks supports retail and supply chain partners by delivering best in class workforce management capabilities. As the program manager, you will focus on the success of the overall program by leading the execution of governance activities across highly cross-functional portfolio initiatives. This role operates at a multi-faceted level and collaborates with high performing cross-functional project and portfolio leads to drive both strategic and tactical PCS program activities. This position requires strong stakeholder management capability and an ability to create an environment of trust and confidence across all impacted teams. This role will have end to end accountability for the success and delivery of the technology capabilities of PCS.Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.Summary Of Key Responsibilities• Lead, plan, and execute PCS initiatives. Provide direction and leadership to the team ensuring successful delivery and value rationalization.• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships and communication planning for the program.• Lead assessment of project risk, issue management, leveraging PMO processes, tools, and standards.• Oversee technology planning and manage day-to-day PCS program activities.• Collaborate across portfolio and business function leads to track and communicate overall program status, issues, risk, with transparency in a timely manner.• Work closely with PCS and Workforce Management teams including enterprise architecture, project & product managers to develop program governance structures, rules of engagement, and establish and manage effective execution of the structure.• Partner closely with PCS product and project managers to define and set up a portfolio management to perform prioritization, dependency analysis, and activity sequencing on all impacted initiatives across portfolios and functions using dissimilar SDLC methodologies.• Constantly ensure alignment, cross-portfolio-functional synergies and effective dependency management.• Perform core project management duties for core program activities including, developing a project plan that includes a detailed budget, project timelines, detailed task-driven schedule, program RACI and resource plan, communication plan, and managing project execution. Work independently in highly complex environments, without the need of day-to-day guidance.We’d Love To Hear From People WithProven experience as a program leader or other managerial experienceThorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methodsUnderstanding of agile methodologies and practicesExcellent knowledge of data analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.Business acumen and leadership skillsExcellent communication skillsPreferred Qualifications• Minimum of five years’ experience as a senior program manager in IT or a software development setting;• Seven years overall experience working in IT or a software development setting.• Experience using Agile methods and working on complex, integrated platforms required.• Bachelor’s Degree required in Computer Science, Business Administration, or Management preferred.• PMP, PgMP, and Scrum Master Certifications are a plus.• Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities.Leadership And Communication• Leads by example – with confidence, a positive attitude, patience, honesty and integrity, and a strong sense of commitment.• Ability to ‘read the room’, to know what is possible and what is not, and to know how to navigate program and project engagements efficiently and effectively.• Ability to engage in difficult conversations that result in positive, actionable outcomes.• Ability to navigate complex and diverse landscapes effectively.• Seeks and provides honest, transparent feedback.• Ability to build and lead high-performing project teams within a complex interconnected program.• Ability to set expectations and hold individuals and team members accountable to their commitments.• Drives decision-making that favors compromise and alignment over consensus-building.• Exceptional facilitation skills; ability to adapt approach to different types of engagements.• Exceptional written and verbal communication.• Ability to influence without direct reporting relationships.Acumen And Learning Agility• Deep understanding of technology programs and portfolio management practices.• Expert-level knowledge of standards and practices for technology project lifecycle management activities and deliverables.• Experience managing a large program with a complex integrated platform ecosystem and complex matrixed organization.• Expertise in MS Project and at least one program portfolio management tool, such as MS Project Portfolio Management (PPM).• Advanced skills in the MS Office Product Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPointAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.We are committed to creating a diverse and welcoming workplace that includes partners with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
