Specific discussions about the schedule will be discussed during the offer stage.Description Of JobWhat you'll be doing:• As the ADA and Civil Rights Compliance Officer, you are the Expert in this area for the Department.• Minimizing the Department's exposure to compliance risk and reputational harm resulting from noncompliance and other violations of federal and state nondiscrimination laws.• Contributing to the fulfillment of the Department's mission, values, and philosophy by serving as a resource on laws, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to civil rights to ensure access for Colorado’s most vulnerable citizens.• As the expert, you will be assessing department compliance with nondiscrimination laws, including Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, Section 1557 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, and the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act (CADA).• Leading legal compliance with the Department’s nondiscrimination obligations by developing and implementing policies, procedures (SOPs), and guidelines for the purpose of meeting and maintaining compliance of the Department’s programs, services and activities to the requirements and expectations of the regulations above.• Through the policies and procedures that govern the Department, you will be assisting to ensure that no individual shall be excluded from participation in or denied access to the programs, services and activities of the Department or be subject to discrimination by the Department or any of its contractors or providers based on their protected class status.• Advising employees of the Department in nondiscrimination compliance and reasonable modification under Title II of the ADA.• Conducting investigations to respond to discrimination complaints and grievances within the purview of the regulations above, and the provision of auxiliary aids and services and reasonable modifications.• Coordinating complaints to the Department’s Digital Accessibility Compliance Officer, ADA Title I Coordinator, State Ombudsman, the Attorney General’s Office, and federal and state partners as necessary.Residency RequirementMinimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal RightsThis posting is only open to residents of the State of Colorado at the time of submitting your application.Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience:Option 1There are two ways to qualify for this position:Experience OnlySeven (7) years of related professional experience advising members, counties or HCPF departmental staff on medical assistance programs and benefits, and/or advising on nondiscrimination compliance requirements related to requests for access to programs, services and activities.Option 2Education and Experience:A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related field and three (3) years of professional experience advising members, counties or HCPF departmental staff on medical assistance programs and benefits, and/or advising on nondiscrimination compliance requirements related to requests for access to programs, services and activities.Appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
