Chief Financial Officer – Motor Vehicle DivisionLocation: Motor Vehicle Division Building, 6310 SE Convenience Blvd., Ankeny, Iowa 50021Are you a seasoned accountant with a passion for strategic financial leadership? The Motor Vehicle Division of the Iowa Department of Transportation is looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join our dynamic team. As the CFO, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the financial future of our division, providing expert financial analysis, and delivering strategic fiscal guidance directly to the Division Director and leadership team.At the Iowa DOT, we are driven by our core values of Safety First, People Matter, Customer Focused, Servant Leadership, and Integrity Without Exception. These values shape our mission to Make Lives Better Through Transportation and are at the heart of everything we do.In this role, you will:• Lead and support the division’s financial management through comprehensive budget analysis, forecasting, and fiscal planning.• Provide insightful options analyses and formal budget presentations to drive strategic decision-making.• Collaborate with division leaders, offering leadership consultation and fostering a culture of inclusivity and ethical behavior.• Analyze proposed legislation to assess budgetary impact to the division and produce fiscal impact statements that will be submitted to the legislative body to aid in policy considerations.• Prepare comprehensive reports and develop recommendations relating to financial activities the division is engaged in, including fee collections and accounting procedures for frontline personnel.• Engage with teams across the agency to develop and align agency budget reports and requests relating to the needs of MVD products or services.Additional Requirements:• CPA LicenseNOTICE: This position is a covered position under the REAL ID Act of 2005, 49 U.S.C. § 30301 note, as further defined in 6 CFR Part 37.
